JJD TRIO is a collaboration of three fine Canadian jazz musicians from Southwestern Ontario who perform throughout the region both  collectively and individually in clubs, concerts, festivals and other venues. 


The Musicians

John Noubarian :     

John Noubarian

- Considered one of the region’s most respected jazz players.

- Resides and works out of London, Ontario.

- Has played with jazz greats like Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins, Bobby Hackett, Jack Brokensha, Peter Appleyard, Pat Labarbara, and Bob Haggart.

- Graduate of Music Faculty of the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada.

- Has been involved in music for practically all of his life.


Darryl Stacey :

Darryl Stacey

- One of region’s finest jazz electric bass players.

- Also resides and works out of London, Ontario

- Has been involved as professional musician for 27 years

- Has worked with many well-known celebrities such as Jenny Jones, Rich Little, Don Harron, Gordie Tapp, and the Harmonicats.

- Graduate of the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Music

- Director of Music for annual London International “Ribfest”.


Jeff Christmas:

Jeff Christmas

Jeff Christmas is not only one of the region's finest drummers but is also a freelance composer, arranger, conductor, percussionist and trumpeter. He studied at York University in Toronto, the University of Western Ontario in London, and most recently completed his studies at Berklee College of Music, Boston, where he majored in film scoring and composition.

His career as a composer began at age 15 with a first-place award in a province-wide competition. Since 1991 he has composed and arranged for "Brassroots" and since 1993 has had his works performed by the Kitchener-Waterloo and Windsor Symphonies and Orchestra London.

His exceptional musical perception, sensitivity, and creativity are evident in his fine drum performance on "A Beautiful Friendship".

Jeff, in addition to his trio work with John Noubarian and Darryl Stacey is also resident composer for Orchestra London.
